Michelin Ratings Are Out For Berlin, Reveal First 3 Star Joint
Berlin- The Michelin list is out again this year and the Berlin stars are still significant to a certain population of diners. We ave gained two Michelin starred joints, Cordo and Prism, and moved Coda up to the two star ranking. We have also found Berlin’s first three star shop in this year’s listing. It is Mitte’s Rutz who takes the historic mantle as the first restaurant in town with that vaunted rating. What does it all mean for Berlin gastronomy? Sad to say, but Mr. Eatler fears it doesn’t add much. Certainly the stale Michelin flavour will continue to dominate their institution as they continue to reward conservatism rather than innovation. Nevertheless, congratulations to the winners and much continued success.
