Swedish Coffee Chain Buys Out Balzac, Conversions Continue
Mitte- Espresso House
Pic came of the TIP Line that revealed the beginnings of the newest invasion of Berlin coffee chains, Espresso House. The deal is that the Swedish coffee chain Espresso House, bought out the Hamburg based coffee chain, Balzac last year and have been busy rebranding and rebuilding the many shops across town. They opened up a shop over in Prenzlauer Berg’s Schönhauser Allee earlier this summer and and are now working on their next location in Mitte. They aim to open another seventeen shops by the end of the year, thereby seemingly wiping out any remains of Balzac. Looks like they are a couple of weeks away on their current Mitte project, but Mr. Eatler will keep you abreast.
