Barcomi Drops Restaurant Knowledge In Berlin TEDX Lecture
Cynthia Barcomi, the owner and name sake for her now institutional Berlin establishments, Barcomi’s, was recently featured on a TEDX lecture titled: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Embrace The Struggle. The lecture went down earlier this summer, but the video recording was published only a few weeks ago, and its making the social media rounds. In the lecture Barcomi describes her her history in gastronomy and her various lessons along the way, all the while delivering a message to potential young restaurateurs, essentially saying: get off your ass and make it happen. Naturally Barcomi’s take was more elegant than Mr. Eatler’s, but not by much as she demonstrates just how tough a restaurateur needs to be in order to make a successful career. Definitely worth a listen for the upstarts out there.
