Neukölln – Bichou, the French café right of Sonnenallee, was reviewed by Mit Vergnügen and got some praise for its French charm, homemade granola and more than reasonable price/quality ratio. Check out the full post here
Moabit – The Poutine Kitchen, a Canadian pop up inside the Arminiusmarkthalle, got a solid review from Berliner Zeitung. Writer, Tina Hüttl swiped the write up away from Sljiva, another Arminius joint because they didn’t have the meal shew was after. Hüttl ended up doing the review for the Quebec Classic instead. Check out the full post here
Prenzlauer Berg – Tenzan Lab, a parlour doing ice kakigori style, got some love from Tip, who were impressed by their beautifully crafted ice shaving machine, variety of Japanese delicacies and interior design. Check out the full post here
Charlottenburg – Cell, a brutally local resto by a renowned Russian chef, got a mention in Berliner Morgenpost prior to its opening next month. The article gives an intro into the vision and ideas of Evengy Vikentev, the man behind the soon to be fine dining establishment. Cell already has a highly promising crew on board as they have been poaching from some of the top joints in town. The writer threw some shade at the owner off the bat for coming off like a Mitte hipster, but then recanted his admonishment. Check out the full post here
Mitte, Tokyo– Zenkichi, Mitte based Tokyo style brasserie, got an interesting feature in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung style magazine. The deal was that the writer chronicled a culinary trip through Tokyo with the restaurant owners, Watanabe & Margulies. They sampled some of the inspirational Tokyo eateries and hot spots that the international restaurateur couple have gathered over the years. Check it out here.
Kreuzberg– Layla, the in gestation Israeli joint down at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Kreuzberg got a write up at the Morgenpost. Overall a glowing preview of the joint that reads as though the joint has some very capable public relations. One interesting element to note is that the writer threw in a positive comparison to Gal Ben Moshe’s upcoming joint, Prism. Check it out here.
