Closings Rundown- To Pizza Or Not To Pizza, TGI Fridays
Every once in a while, in the wee hours of the morn, when all has gone to shit and too much adult libation has been imbibed and so we ask ourselves the question- To Pizza Or Not To Pizza… and so it is such with at least part of today’s rundown. Here goes.
Charlottenburg- restaurant and pizzeria Del Falco is looking for someone to take over their completely outfitted restaurant. Over its 13 years of operation, Del Falco has amassed a decent number of regulars. Why should you care? Because when these same people pop by for a little bit of stromboli expecting to see their local Italian joint and are instead confronted with your new joint, you got two options. You can dazzle them with your culinary arts and make sure they become your regulars, or you poop the proverbial bed of lettuce . Del Falco comes with all the essentials needed to start your own pizza joint, but they are open to other concepts as well. One could ask, will the regulars be open to the other concepts or not? But the big question is To Pizza, Or Not To Pizza?
Schöneberg- Radke’s Gasthaus Alt-Berlin on Marburger Strasse will cease to be. Located in a typical Berliner “Altbau,” this traditional german restaurant is up for grabs. While it’s anyone’s guess what kind of restaurant will be moving into this location next, one thing is for sure: it will be a shame to see all of this priceless interior disappear and memorabilia get tossed out with the kitchenwater. This place looks as if the T.G.I. Fridays of yesteryears mated with a German Stammkneipe. Now if someone would like to answer the age old question of where the hell T.G.I. Fridays gets all their damned ukuleles, that would be grand.
PS: T.G.I. Friday’s is an American chain restaurant where gastronomic dreams go to get diabetes.
