Mitte- Writer/Producers Opens Up Amalgam Cafe

July 3, 2017|Openings

MitteLawrence, a new café/restaurant/gallery/photo studio/shop/co-working space hybrid, is due to open up soon on the busy corner of Oranienburger Strasse and Tucholskystrasse. They are heavily renovating and looking for staff. This amalgam of conceptual mish mosh is the brainchild of Berlin based author and theatre producer Frank Alva Buecheler. Lawrence is being marketed as a “melting pot of cultures, where orient meets occident”.

It will apparently serve Syrian-Lebanese cuisine, with “some Italian and international” touches thrown in the pan, while simultaneously hosting live music, entertaining photo shoots, selling artisanal crafts and renting out workspace to freelancing hipsters. Confused? You’re not alone. Care to throw something else in the stew or “melting pot” as it were? There is not yet any cafe in town with a brutally local ophthalmologist. In any case, let us all hope that Lawrence succeeds and Mr. Eatler has got his proverbial head up his ass. Which is troubling considering the antlers.
